Start Smart Soccer
For children ages 3-6, this program will focus on basic soccer skills such as trapping, dribbling, passing and goalie. There are two separate sessions for Start Smart Soccer, with two different sign up options for each session. If you choose the option of NO equipment, be sure your player brings a soccer ball and shin guards. If you sign your player up for the option WITH equipment, they will receive two different size soccer balls, cones, shin guards and a participation manual to keep. This program will take place at either Moraine View Park or Starin Park and at the Armory Gym during inclement weather. To register, click HERE.
Tee Ball and Rookie Ball
This program will be available to 4 & 5 year olds. There will be an emphasis placed on developing skills and having fun! All players hit from the tee. Players will be divided into teams and be assigned to a volunteer coach. Each player will receive a team jersey. To register, click HERE
A step up from Tee Ball, this program will place emphasis on building off of previous skills, learning game situations and having fun! This is a coach pitch program. 2017 Whippet Basketball Summer Camp
The 2017 Whippet Basketball Summer Camp will be for girls and boys from grades 3-12. Both the girls and boys sessions will be held on June 12, 13, and 14. Registration is due by May 20th to ensure your player will receive a camp T-shirt. Click HERE

Youth and Adult Tennis
Whitewater Parks and Recreation Department and Premier Tennis and Fitness are working together to bring top notch professional tennis classes to Whitewater area children and adults. Skills that will be covered consist of serving, forehand, backhand, and footwork, along with learning the rules of the game and how to score.
All equipment will be provided.
The program with be overseen by the Tennis Director at Premier Tennis and Fitness, Barry Hankel. All classes will be on Thursdays at Whitewater High School. Make up days will be that Friday at the regular scheduled class time.
Ages 3-6: Using Quick Start approach, children are taught using balls that bounce lower and don’t move as fast so they are easier to hit.
Ages 7-8: Students will further develop tennis strokes, groundstrokes and volleys and the serve. Footwork drills and pint playing will be introduced.
Ages 9-12: Students will refine stroke mechanics with major emphasis on improving the consistency and accuracy of groundstrokes, volleys, overheads and learning the rules of the game.
Ages 13-18: This group is designed for high school players or advanced middle school players. Drills become more intense and focused on strategy, point play for singles and doubles.
Adults: All levels are welcome from Beginner to Advanced. Drills will work on technique, strategy, and point play. Drills will be fast paced and keep you moving.
There will be two sessions during the summer. Session 1 will be from June 15th-July 13th. Session two will run from July 20th-August 17th.
The Whitewater Country Club is proud to announce it will be offering the Junior Golf program once again this year. Participants ages 8-17 are welcome to sign up. PGA professional Brett Weber will be leading the instruction all summer long! The program will commence on June 5th, with an Open House at WCC from 5:00-7:00pm. Classes will then start Monday, June 12th, and repeat every Monday until August 8th (No class, Monday July 3rd). Each week there will be mini game competitions for all participants to take part in. Whitewater traveling basketball club, for a third year has partnered with Joe Carollo, assistant UW-Whitewater women's basketball coach, and members of the warhawk basketball team for summer basketball instruction. Each 90-minute session will be high intensity and focus on enhancing and building fundamental basketball skills in the area, of shooting, dribbling, passing, offensive movement, defense and rebounding. Whitewater Traveling Baksetball Club
The mission of the Whitewater Traveling Basketball Club is to educate Whitewater's youth in basketball skills and to promote good sportsmanship, teamwork, and physical fitness in partnership with the athletes, coach families, school district, and community. We are committed to elevating the skill level of each athlete in the program, and to nurturing a sense of commitment to the team and loyalty to each individual teammate within the framework of a competitive athletic environment.
The whitewater Traveling Basketball Club offers basketball for boys and girls. Grade Level teams are organized by volunteer coaches and teams practice twice a week, with each practice being 90- 120 minutes. The season varies based on the age level of the child with games played on Saturdays. A majority of teams will also participate in tournaments including those tournaments which are hosted in Whitewater. Parents and families are expected to volunteer for our hosted tournaments, the dog pound classic, and JR. Warhawk. The club offers the tournaments in place of fundraising. WYFL Tackle Football 6th-8th Grade
The Whitewater Youth Football League (WYFL) operates tackle football for
children ages 6th - 8th grade for students of the Whitewater Unified School
District. A separate team will be formed for each grade level. The 6th-8th
grade WYFL teams will once again be part of the Dane & Jefferson County
Youth Football League (D&JCYFL) and will play both its home and away games
on Saturdays.. Practices are scheduled per the volunteer coach. Practice will
be four times per week until the first game and will then go down to 3 times
per week with times and days determined by the coaches.
This year there will not be a fundraiser included with the registration fee.

WYFL Hybrid Flag Football
All registration for this program must be completed online.
WYFL 7-on-7 Flag Hybrid Football will once again be offered in the fall of 2017. Games will be played on Saturdays at Whitewater High School and in the other communities participating in the league. Practices are held 3 times per week until school starts and twice a week once school starts. Practice times and days of the week are determined by the coaches. Equipment including a helmet and shoulder pads for all participants will be provided for this style of flag football. The WYFL feels this format provides greater protection for participants and allow athletes the opportunity to get comfortable wearing equipment prior to participation in tackle football. Participants will have the opportunity to learn skills required to play on the line or in “skill” positions. The playbook and terminology will be designed to build up towards the Whitewater High School playbook.

A skill building basketball experience for elementary children. An emphasis is placed on learning basketball skills, the game of basketball, and having fun! Skills include shooting, passing, and dribbling, defense, and footwork. The first four weeks will focus on instruction.
